SupportGetting started
What is MatchFrame?
MatchFrame: Camera Overlay is an iPhone and Android camera app for before/after photos and short videos. It shows your previous shot as a see-through ghost over the live camera so you can match the angle, distance and pose, then compare and export the result.
What is a ghost overlay camera?
A camera that shows a semi-transparent copy of an earlier photo or clip over the live view. You line the scene up with that copy before you shoot, so the new shot matches the old one's framing.
Do I need an account?
No. You can install the app and take your first shot without signing up.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later, and Android phones from Google Play.
Which languages does the app support?
English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean and Arabic.
Capturing
Can I use a photo or video I took before installing the app?
Yes. Pick any photo or clip from your library as the reference and it becomes the ghost for your next shot.
Does it work for videos?
Yes. Switch to Clip to record with the same overlay. In the export screen, merge clips into one video, or play 2 to 4 clips and photos at once in a split-screen or grid video.
What opacity should the ghost be?
Around 35% lets you see both the reference and the live camera. Black-and-white overlay mode helps when colors are similar.
Can I take photos without holding the phone?
Yes. Use the timer or hands-free mode, where tapping anywhere on screen takes the shot. Pro adds interval capture every 5, 10 or 30 seconds.
Exporting
Which formats can I export?
Reels 9:16, Post 4:5, Square 1:1 and Wide 16:9, as a single image, side by side or grid. Clips export as one merged video or as a split-screen or grid video. Pro adds slideshow and GIF.
Can I remove the watermark?
The small “Made with MatchFrame” mark appears on free exports. Pro removes it.
Why can't I save to my gallery?
MatchFrame needs permission to add photos. On iPhone go to Settings → MatchFrame → Photos and allow access; on Android allow photo and media access in app settings.
Privacy and data
Where are my photos and videos stored?
On your phone. MatchFrame doesn't upload your photos or videos. They leave the device only when you export or share them, or turn on backup.
How do I move my projects to a new phone?
On iPhone, turn on iCloud backup in settings and restore on the new phone. On Android, create a backup file and open it on the new phone.
Does MatchFrame give health or fitness advice?
No. It's a camera and comparison tool. It doesn't measure your body or skin or give medical advice.
